Gay or Straight? I Don't Care. Do you?

I found this report on Yahoo videos today. Its a great 60 Minute episode. It touches on a topic which I am very interested in. Not because of any personal issues but rather an overall issue I have in relation to how homosexuals are being treated (particularly by religious and moralistic powers) . As I have mentioned before in my previous post, I am a Christian. And one of the greatest injustice I have ever had against the decisions that my church in Singapore has made was the tough stance in which they held against people who are homosexual.

They are often quick to judge and pass out judgement without fully understanding the context of the issue. I believe anyone who knows which church I belong to will probably disagree with me to the day I die. But let's just say this, the amount of control that a church has on a person makes the person follow an agenda (the church's) without question and without doubt. I cannot do that which is why it was so easy to label people like me "rebels" rather then have someone around who actually has a mind of his own. It's always easier to ignore people who question them rather then having to explain yourself to someone "beneath" you. My question is "Why can't we treat each other as human beings? As equals?". Oh well, that's life I guess.

Well, well, well... the main problem is that nowadays (like always unfortunately) the church and christian religion are "managed" and directed by very "squared" and conventional people who actually have almost nothing to deal with jesus and what he said... actually he was killed by very moralistic people because he was considered to be blasphemous and too rebel... and who is directing the church now??? Exactly the same "orthodox, narrow minded" people who found jesus to be an insane, "odd fellow"!!!
In 2005 I had the occasio to talk to a very alternative and nice young priest that I immediately provoked by asking him "WHY the church is so hard on homosexuals"... well, he smiled and he gave me a very cool answer. he said that:" god created men, women... and angels (who are nor men nor women)". Well... the church really needs people like him... but unfortunately such priests are still kind of rare... Ugh!!!
My best friend is a gay guy, he's christian and he would like to feel accepted by the church, but those old bastards condemn him...
But I know one thing: when he will die, the doors of heaven will be wide open especially for him, and not for those religious moralists who interpret christianity in their own fascist way!!!
I'm catholic and I must say that the new pope 100%disappointed me and I hope that that young priest I talked with in 2005 will be the next pope!!!! the church needs young people!!! I'm sick of all those obsolete "out-of-date" old men!!!!AAARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH

cheers. ANITA
p.s.I love my gay buddy!!!^_^
